Stopover in Kuala Lumpur...

Here I am in Kuala Lumpur, first stopover on my trip to Aus. (Monday 19th August) Perhaps I'll master this infernal machine and make some progress reports along the way.
Friends Stefan and Helen Gigacz, with their three children, have welcomed me into their new abode on the 18th floor of a new building in eastern KL. It has been the last week-end of two weeks of school holidays. Yesterday 11 o'clock Mass in a huge modern church - all in Chinese language, following the Tamul, English and Malay versions at two hour intervals. Hundreds of people milling around before or after the various services, coffee and sandwiches au choix, great music and a very friendly atmosphere.
Last evening we all went to a satay restaurant and today Stefan drove me to Malacca, about 100 km down the coast. An amazing history has left meaningful evidence in the city landscape.
If all goes well it will be to Perth on Wednesday. And who knows, more soon?
